Event Overview:

At the site of a future accessible trail on campus, we need to remove invasive species. Removing these invasive species will not only mean more native plants can grow, but it will also help local birds and other wildlife species to thrive.

Event Details:

• Date: Saturday, November 15th
• Time: 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
• Location: Meet at the canoe compound at lot P (see image for the map, look at the top left corner for the spot marked in red and white). If you follow the gravel path to the left of the bus turn-around spot, you will walk straight to the canoe launch.

Bring/Wear:

• Comfortable, closed-toe, durable shoes (mud proof if you have any)
• Long pants and long socks
• Ensure you wear clothing and shoes that you will not mind getting dirty
• Water bottles
• Sunscreen/Hat/Sunglasses
• Bug spray

Additional notes:
–Pizza will be provided! Let staff members know of any dietary restrictions when you arrive at the event.

-We may choose to take photos/record videos of the event for records purposes. Individuals will be informed and can choose to consent or not consent. Non-consenting individuals will not be photographed. Some content maybe used for social media, which will also be made known at the beginning of the event.

Caution:

-Ticks – Wear long socks over pants to protect yourself from tick bites.
-Poison ivy – Similar strategy, long pants and long socks, wear gloves and protect your skin!
