McMaster University recognizes that the University and surrounding Hamilton area, including their nature spaces, are situated on traditional territories shared between the Haudenosaunee confederacy and Anishnaabe nations. These lands are protected by the Dish with One Spoon Wampum belt. The wampum uses the symbolism of a dish to represent the territory, and one spoon to represent that the people are to share the resources of the land and only take what they need.

Join Green Venture for Hamilton’s Annual Seedy Saturday, hosted by Green Venture and Hamilton Public Library on February 7th from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Central Library (55 York Blvd). 


Here’s what you can look forward to:


    

  • Free Seeds for All: Pick up seeds for the next gardening season. You can also contribute to the swap. Bring seeds in packed and labelled envelopes to streamline the swap and share with others. No seeds? No problem! Everyone is welcome to join the fun.

  • Vendors and Exhibitors: Explore a variety of vendors offering quality seeds and gardening supplies, including heritage and heirloom varieties.
    • 

  • Workshops and Demos: Learn new gardening tips and techniques through engaging workshops and demonstrations.
    • 

  • Networking Opportunities: Meet fellow gardeners and experts to share tips and build lasting connections.
    • 

  • Children’s Activities: Fun and educational activities for young budding gardeners.
    • 



Admission is free, and donations in support of Green Venture are appreciated.
