The Rock Garden reflects a forward-facing environmental approach to environmental sustainability. RBG describes the Rock Garden as "a garden for the 21st century, one that embraces sustainable trends in garden design and management while respecting the integrity of its heritage setting. It incorporates a best practices approach to plant selection, design and management, including pollinator-friendly plants, species native to Ontario, and a broad representation of drought-tolerant perennials that provide wide sweeps of colour and texture through the seasons."

Fun fact! Reopened in 2016, Rock Garden uses less water, negates upheaval of the soil, requires less human-power, and produces less plant waste and carbon emissions then any other garden of its kind. With this new infrastructure people can now experience the garden in a new way: year-round, day and night.

Come and see what Rock Garden has to offer. Come and learn how to make your garden sustainable and environmentally friendly!
