Discover the incredible bird life that thrives within McMaster Forest’s diverse ecosystems during a guided birding walk led by expert Rob Porter. With a focus on local species, Rob will guide beginners and seasoned birdwatchers alike through the picturesque trails of McMaster Forest, sharing his wealth of knowledge on the region’s avian inhabitants.
Throughout the walk, Rob will also shed light on the captivating bird research carried out on the property, including breeding bird surveys, bird box monitoring, and acoustic data collection. This unique insight will provide a deeper understanding of the birds in our midst and the efforts made to protect and study them.
To make the most of this birding adventure, we recommend bringing a pair of binoculars if you have them. This will allow you to observe our feathered friends from a safe distance without disrupting their natural habitat.
As we venture through the forest, please remember to dress appropriately for the weather and take necessary precautions against ticks. Closed-toe shoes, long-sleeved shirts or jackets, and long pants are advised to ensure your comfort and safety during the hike.
This event is open to everyone, regardless of their birdwatching experience. Join us for a memorable day in the great outdoors, connecting with nature and learning about the amazing bird species that call McMaster Forest home. We look forward to seeing you there!
