Join us on April 27th for a transformative day of ecological stewardship at McMaster University. This event is a unique opportunity for community members, students, faculty, and staff to actively contribute to a greener, more sustainable campus and future. By participating in our Community Tree Planting Event, you’ll not only help plant hundreds of native plugs, shrubs, and trees but also engage in removing invasive plants that threaten our local ecosystem.

Schedule:
11:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Educational Demonstration
Kick off the event with an informative session on the significance of native plants and the impact of invasive species. Our experts will demonstrate the correct planting techniques and share insights on how to care for the newly planted flora.
11:30 AM – 2:00 PM: Native Planting and Invasive Plant Removal
Roll up your sleeves and join in as we work together to plant a variety of native species and remove invasive plants from our campus. This hands-on activity is designed to enhance biodiversity and support a healthy ecosystem.
Enjoy Pizza After the Hard Work
After contributing to the beautification and ecological health of our campus, relax and enjoy some delicious pizza on us. It’s a great way to wrap up the event and connect with fellow environmental enthusiasts.
Who Should Attend:
This event is perfect for anyone interested in environmental conservation, sustainability, or simply looking to make a positive impact on their community. Families, students, faculty, staff, and community members are all welcome. No prior experience is necessary—we’ll provide all the tools, gloves, and guidance you’ll need.
What to Bring:
- Dress for the outdoors with sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
- Water bottle to stay hydrated.
- A hat and sunscreen for protection against the sun.

Admission is free, but registration is required to help us plan for tools, materials, and enough pizza for everyone. Please RSVP.
